Testing & Assessment

Neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents are designed to help clarify how a child learns, thinks, and processes information and emotions, while also identifying strengths and areas of difficulty. Families often seek testing when a child is struggling academically, emotionally, or behaviorally, and they want a clearer understanding of what’s getting in the way and how to best support their child.

Evaluations provide insight into a child’s cognitive, academic, emotional, and neurodevelopmental functioning, with the goal of offering practical, individualized recommendations that families can use at home, at school, and in daily life.

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and individualized. Evaluations are not just about testing, but about helping children, adolescents, and their families make sense of what's going on so they can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Who Neuropsychological Evaluations and Educational Testing May be Helpful For

Evaluations may be helpful for children and adolescents who are experiencing:

  • Attention or concentration difficulties

  • Inconsistent academic performance

  • Learning challenges in reading, writing, or math

  • Executive functioning difficulties (organization, planning, follow-through)

  • Emotional or behavioral concerns that impact learning

  • Frustration and self-doubt

  • Questions about cognitive strengths, learning style, or developmental profile

Families often seek an evaluation when concerns feel confusing, overlapping, or hard to untangle, or when they feel like their child is putting in effort but just not getting results, and want a clearer understanding of how to best support their child.  Sometimes parents just have a sense that "something isn't clicking" or "feels off."  Evaluations can help clarify questions related to attention, learning differences, executive functioning, emotional regulation, or behaivor, and provide a clearer understanding of how to best support a child at home, at school, and in daily life.

What the Evaluation Process Looks Like

The evaluation process begins with an in-depth intake interview to understand your child’s history, current concerns, and goals for the assessment. From there, testing is conducted in a supportive, child-friendly manner and tailored to your child’s age and needs.

Evaluations are designed to be thoughtful and individualized, with attention to your child's comfort and experience throughout the process.  Testing is not only about "scores," but also about observing how your child approaches tasks, how they react to uncertainty, what might frustrate them, and how they respond to encouragement and reassurance.

Following testing, I provide a comprehensive written report and I meet with parents for a feedback session to review findings in clear, accessible language. Recommendations are practical, individualized, and focused on helping families and teachers better understand their child more fully to best support them at home, school, and in daily life.  Throughout the process, my goal is to help families feel informed, supported, and confident in the next steps.

Recommendations & Follow-Up

Recommendations are tailored to your child’s specific profile and may include educational supports, school accommodations, therapeutic recommendations, and strategies for home. When helpful, I can also collaborate with schools or other providers to support implementation.  My focus is on translating evaluation results into clear, practical next steps that feel realistic, supportive, and manageable.
